Chalk Painted Kitchen Cabinets
Here is the before...
here is the during...
And finally... the finished kitchen!
My cabinets were done by 2 very sweet women from a company called Bella Terra Designs. Check Theresa's website, they are true artists and professionals. I would recommend them 100% for those that live in the area. You can check out their Facebook page here.

Bella Terra Designs used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint...
I didn't want the upper cabinets too white or too cream colored so mixing the 2 was the perfect solution!
At the last minute we ended up using a primer on the top cabinets. Even though a degreaser was used to clean the cabinets first, grease spots were coming up through the white...
In an attempt to stop the spots in their tracks the ladies used a primer first and then 2 coats of chalk paint. Primer is usually an unnecessary step with chalk paint, but in this case it was better safe than sorry!
The bottom cabinets were painted with Annie Sloan French Linen. We finished off the cabinets with a little distressing and 2 coats of varnish. We all felt that the varnish would give the cabinets added protection. The varnish is called C-5000 from Faux Effects International.
My cabinets go around the island and into the next room... this was no small job which is why I hired someone to do it for me.
Going with the 2 toned kitchen was the perfect choice, not too light and not too dark. It gave the room a lot of character!
Update: The kitchen walls were painted a neutral white color from Sherwin Williams. You can see the new color HERE.
