Grain Sack Striped Laundry Folding Table

How to paint the perfect grain sack stripes.

Old laminate table

I sure didn't pass up this laminate table on the side of the road.

It was just the right size for a folding table in my laundry room.

I knew all it needed was a little paint and a few stripes.

First I gave the pedestal legs a coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Duck Egg, then painted the top Bright White.

I love that this paint sticks to laminate with no sanding or prep.

When the paint dried, I gave the table top a clear coat of wax.

I used Frog Tape (affiliate link) to tape off my grain sack stripes and then painted in the spaces.

I did this with an uneven shading so the stripes would come out looking distressed.

This Frog Tape is fabulous... not a speck of paint leaked under the tape!

When the stripes were dry, I ran fine sandpaper over them for more distressing and then I re-waxed the table.

This is my basement laundry room, not too glamorous but very functional!

Take a look at what it looks like after another recent update!
