Craft Room with Unique Storage Ideas
My tiny craft room got a little make-over,
a little paint and unique storage for crafts...
The desk where I blog is really 2 old doors placed "L" shaped on top of IKEA tables. As of today, they are painted white.
The wall cubbies I created out of small crates I found at the thrift store also got a coat of white.
I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White.
I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White.
Chalk paint went right over these old varnished doors
with no problem. I laid glass over the panels in the doors to give
the desk a smooth work surface. I then filled the inner panel space with vintage postcards and fun printables.
Along the sides of the desks I attached a yard sticks both to cover up the IKEA desk and also to use when measuring packages for my Etsy shop.
There is plenty of room on this big desk for files and craft supplies.
the great spinning rack came from Harbor Freight Hardware.
I'm using a sectioned crate turned on it's side to store large hole punches and rubber stamps.
I'm hiding the printer under the desk...
the found cabinet stores paper and ink.
Here are some inexpensive and unique ways to
create storage in your room..
1. A mug holder makes a great scissor rack. 2. Baskets on a shelf crate storage for fabrics. 3. Tiered trays built from thrift store bowls hold smaller items. 4. A vintage glass rack holds decorative scissors. 5. A pot lid rack from IKEA organizes cards. 6. A recycled bulletin board covered in drop cloth makes a whole new pin board in the craft room.
The one window in the room is covered with a DIY valance,
side panels on clips that don't move
and an accordion shutter for privacy.
On the other corner of my desk is the big computer and
old spice racks for paint and twine storage.
This curtain a la Funky Junk Interiors works
great because there is no door on my closet.
On the opposite wall is my pegboard storage,
Don't forget that white $5.00 craft hutch!
And last but not least, on the back of the door
I'm hiding more supplies...
It is a teeny tiny room but it is chock full of fun!
This is where I blog.
