A Bittersweet Move

Sometimes you just need to go with your gut... even if it wasn't in the plan.

Over two years ago I embarked on the opportunity to open a booth in a shop in town.

It was a scary thought... I had been running a successful blog for 3 years already but could I actually sell the items I make?

Was the risk of rent, advertising, business cards, and supplies going to be worth my investments?

I wasn't sure but I did it... I took a risk.

And so my tiny little Homeroad Shop began. It was literally just a hole in the wall but it was mine and I was darn proud to be a shop owner.

As time went on an opportunity to move to a larger space in the same building came up. More rent, bigger space, more inventory...

But I took another risk.

A whole room with four walls... filled to the brim with my painted furniture, signs and repurposed creations!

The risk turned out to be worth it!

Almost 2 1/2 years later the Homeroad Shop was one of the most ambitious and self fulfilling things I've ever done.

I created, hauled, cleaned, stocked, re-stocked, and worked the desk.

Having this little spot made me happy and proud of the creative gift I was given but as time goes on things change.  People change and situations change.

So now it is with bittersweet feelings that I announce the closing of the Homeroad Shop at The Shops at Suite Pieces on July 31, 2016.

I am sad to be leaving the shop behind but as they say when one door closes another bigger and better door opens and I can't wait to see what is 'in store' for Homeroad next!

I look forward to a fresh new start. For now I will continue to create and sell my treasures at craft fairs, on Etsy. and in local shops so I hope you will continue to follow along with Homeroad on Facebook to hear about all my latest projects and events.

And of course please continue to follow along on this Homeroad blog for new and fun DIY projects with tutorials using some of my favorite paint, products and tools.

I hope you enjoyed this project and you'll take a look at my Amazon Shop for craft supplies I recommend. Also while you're here please sign up for the Homeroad emails on my sidebar so I can send my latest DIY post straight to you.
