Armoire Door Coffee Table Results

I went with Black!

I chose black not only because it was my followers most popular choice...

but because my plans included adding some stenciledwords and numbers to the door... and black stenciling just worked with the black base...

I also added a grain sack stripe down the center of the table...

and my favorite number to the other side...

Thanks for your help friends...

Antique Door turned Coffee Table

There is this antique dealer (or junk guy) that lives a few blocks from me and he is always throwing out great things!

Just a warning, this post is going to make you dizzy.
I've changed my mind while making this piece several times along the way.
Recently I drove by the old junk dealers house and as usual there was a pile of junk at the curb.
On the top of the pile was this 5' long heavy, wooden door!

I pulled over and as I was putting down the seats in my car to slide it in the man came down the driveway!
Embarrassing!

He explained to me that what I was picking up from the side of his driveway was an antique armoire door.
Jackpot!

So... I proceeded to stuff the door into the back of my car.
He didn't help, just kept talking!

Folded Book Organizer

This is my favorite DIY project to organize all those little scraps of papers, photos, CD's, coupons, etc.

Ladder Craft Organizer

You may remember the old ladder that I jammed into the back of my car.

The piece I hadn't used yet made a great craft organizer...

I began by "sewing" on the chicken wire using jute twine with a large needle I made out of wire.

Each shelf has a special use.

A magnetic washboard...

Clip on memos...

Rusty metal spikes are wedged in between the shelves to act as ribbon holders...

A basket for "stuff"...

And a bar across the top of the shelf hangs hooks for whatever you want to hang...
