It's shower day! The DIY wedding decorations are ready!

Using wedding scrap book paper, small Martha Stewart doilies, sticker letters, ribbon and aged tiny clothes pins we made adorable pennants to label the cake, seating card table and the Bride and Groom's table at the wedding.


and similar pennants for the bridal shower.

I printed out letters on the computer and used a large circle punch to make the letter circle.


The tiny clothespins were dropped into a mixture of white vinegar and steel wool which turned them a beautiful aged gray in seconds.

The wedding colors are light pink and gray...

The 17 tables at the wedding will each be a white frame  with a painted or glittered number.

Kasey cut the scrapbook paper to size, and either stenciled on a number with paint, or glued and glittered the number.

She placed the finished numbers into an inexpensive 5x7 Ikea frame.


Each framed number is on a different gray scrapbook patterned paper.

and will be a beautiful addition to the pink and gray table settings.

I started this project with stick matches from the dollar store. They come in packs of 10 for $1.00

I cut long strips of card stock the width of the box, this paper has a beautiful texture.

I scalloped one edge and added a thin strip of pink paper to the scalloped end.
I wrapped the card stock around the box of matches and trimmed off the excess.

I added a monogram that I printed out on sticker paper to the top.

And then made about 40 more!

Easy and inexpensive!

My daughter's wedding is one month from today so for this week at least my mind will be on wedding projects.




My daughter had her eye on a frame she saw on Pinterest.
She wanted it for the seating tags at her wedding.
Together we made a table top version that will be just perfect.


We drew out a design and ran to Home Depot for wood, screws, L-brackets and jute.

She measured, I cut, she held and I drilled and screwed.

We had some great laughs, especially when her fiance called and she explained that she was in the basement with her Mother and power tools while her Father was upstairs cooking dinner.
LOL! Around here, that's how we roll.

A quick coat of stain came next...

and then we drilled holes into the wooden sides, we ran jute from side to side to make a "clothes line" to hold …

This morning I'm making a greenhouse from an old window... this is an experiment so here goes!



I'm using reclaimed 4x4 posts found in my yard.

I measured and cut them into a square the size of the window.


A Master Carpenter I'm not but since this is going into my own garden, perfect is not my goal.

I'm holding the corners together with rusty L brackets...and it worked great.




I leveled the soil and moved the frame into the garden.


I attached the window to the frame with old rusty hinges.


Using a stick I can prop the window open for planting.

My goal today was to do something with the  broken potting table in my yard.
