The Best Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
If you know me you know that I don't usually like to cook.
But I sure do like to bake!
I am not a fancy food blogger but I do know what is good.
This is a simple recipe my family uses all the time and they love it!
There is only one thing better than Banana Bread and that is:
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
3-4 ripe bananas mashed 1/3 c. melted butter or margarine 3/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. baking soda pinch of salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. flour 1 egg
Mash the bananas, add the melted butter Beat in egg, add vanilla Mix well. Add the sugar, salt, and the baking soda Mix in the flour Add 3/4 c. chocolate chips (I use a mixture of mini and regular chips)
Pour into a loaf pan
Bake for 60 minutes at 350 degrees
Let cool and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream...
Hey, what's a few more calories??

How to Make an Herb Crate for Mother's Day
A special project for my Mother...
I love hydrangeas, so does my Mom. Instead of just a plant I wanted to make her a special planter too.
I purchased this box at the thrift store, it had a lot of potential. I especially loved the black iron handle.
I think of the thrift store first because I know I will find something that I can make into a one of a kind piece, save money, and at the same time, save it from a landfill.
I painted this box Old White with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. then I stenciled on a stencil that a friend sent to me just because she is nice.
She sent me 3 stencils... Sage, Thyme and Parsley. Stop by and see her awesomerustic herb crates.
I hope to put all the stencils to a good use soon.
I didn't use the whole stencil this time, I thought the Scarborough Seed Company part was p…

How to Make a DIY Rustic Birdhouse
How to make a birdhouse from an old table.
This old table needed a new life. It wasn't a very good table anymore, the top was warping, and it wobbled. So I did what I do, and I cut it apart.
I had a plan the minute I saw those cool keyholes in the legs.
Are you with me on this one?
Using flat metal brackets on the inside, I attached 2 legs side by side all the way around the house for the walls.
I gave it a couple coats of Anne Sloan Chalk Paint and a coat of poly sealer for protection.
I used an old hinge for a perch and the keyholes made great doors.

How to Make a Beverage & Bar Cart
I found this beauty on the side-of-the-road...
Actually, my friend found it and and asked me to pick it up for her but she never came and got it,
so I'm thinking that possession is 9 tenths of the law.
I painted it with Old White, distressed and waxed it.
I added vinyl letters that originally was printed to say BAKERY but BAR certainly worked better in this case.
I hung racks under the top shelf to hold wine glasses.
I'm loving the detail on the sides!
And I'm really hoping that when my friend comes over later today for my Cinco de Mayo party, she won't recognize this cart!
Next Day Update:
I found a wooden wine rack the perfect size at the thrift store. I painted it Old White to match the cart and added it to the bottom shelf.
