How to Decorate a Baseket
A little bling goes a long way in making a plain basket just a little more special...
How to Paint a Chevron Pattern
This project is done by my super talented daughter Kasey.
She began with a large piece of 1" thick masonite.
The board has a great smooth brown paper-like finish.
She taped off the chevron pattern on the board using masking tape, measuring carefully the length and width of her stripes.
Next she filled in the spaces across with her chosen colors...
Before the paint was completely dry she removed the tape.
The colors are gorgeous between the brown paper lines.
The thickness of this board gives the painting added dimension.
Then she made another 2 so they could hang side-by-s

Easy Switch From a Knob to a Handle on Furniture
Here is how to easily switch a knob on a piece of furniture to a handle.
First, remove the old knob.
Using a strip of painters tape, mark the holes on the back of the handle with a marker.
Transfer the tape to the drawer centered directly over the top of the old knob hole.
Drill through the marks on the tape.
The handle I used had posts on the back so I used a drill bit large enough for the posts to slide into the holes that I drilled in the drawer.
Your new handle holes will line up perfectly and you've covered up the old knob hole!

Fall and Halloween decorating begins with the mantel in my house. I have a super long mantel over my fireplace and it's just itching to be decorated.
Here are some interesting characters I've been collecting forever. Every year I decorate my mantel with them.
I added brand new owls from Marshalls I just couldn't resist.
The end corners of my extra long mantel needed some bling as well.

I transformed this old gate into an antique flower box.
I cut the wood to a nice long length. This box will be 2' long.
The side pieces on my flower box are rounded so I rounded the end pieces to match...
Using painters tape as a top and bottom guide for my letters, I hand painted the word antiques onto the box.
The reclaimed wood is a beautiful aged color with a hint of whitewash.
It makes a beautiful table centerpiece or flower box!
