How to Recycle an Old Chalkboard
This chalkboard started out life as a children's easel, the chalk board finish was ruined and it was ready for the dump.
I found on the side of the road, cut off the legs, flipped it over and added a Scrabble shelf for chalk.
The chalkboard now hangs from an old window chain.
I painted the frame with chalk paint and the chalkboard with new chalkboard paint.
Another item thankfully saved from the dump!
The chalkboard found a new home in our girls' bathroom.

DIY Sewing Table Makeover
An inexpensive side-of-the road find gets a little upgrade.
The top needed a really good sanding to remove the damaged light oak finish.
A couple of coats of a darker stain gave the top a richer look.
I switched the wooden knobs to vintage metal handles, there's a trick to this so check it out by clicking on the bold link.
The drawers are lined with decorative paper.
And the old cast-off table is ready for a new life
as a sewing table!

How to Build a Craft Toolbox Organizer
The sides of this box are created from old fence boards and the bottom from an old broken wine crate.
The center piece is an old board that I cut a hole in for a handle.
To do that I first determined where I wanted the handle.
I drilled two 1" holes and used a jigsaw to cut between the drilled holes.
This gave me the handle slot.
I painted the box a mustard yellow.
I used the paintbrush images from the Graphics Fairy... printed on a laser printer.
I used Modge Podge to transfer the pictures to the wood.
I love these "Do not touch" cards from Carolyn @Homework! I use them all the time!
When the paper dried I rubbed it off and the image stayed behind...it's magic!
