This is an adorable project I made from  driftwood for my deck.



By white washing an old board found washed up on the beach,
I gave it a whimsical but functional look for the patio.


A simple light house with an old Mason jar hanging from a rustic hook for the light.


It created a cute light source for a dark outdoor  corner of the deck.

Here is what I created today from this basketful of gorgeous driftwood from my latest trip to the beach.

An ipad stand with bright grain sack pizazz...

This hall tree bench is an antique and about 15 years  ago my sister in law gave it to me because she was moving.

Today I'm revisiting a thrift store favorite using an assortment of metal trays... large, larger and huge!...

Today I'm working on a repurposed back-to-school project for my classroom that can also be used in your home.
These are IKEA bucketsleft over from my daughter's wedding.... Inexpensive and adorable. You can find them here.

Last year I did I did a project with these buckets...  I changed the finish on them by experimenting with different antiquing solutions.

Today I'm painting the buckets a pretty, bright color for my classroom.
I gave each a coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, followed up with a coat of Polycrylic... these buckets will get heavy use in my classroom.


This color is called Provence and it is reminiscent of the antique blue mason jars in the background.

I love everything with stripes.


I wear stripes all the time, I have stripes all over my house.

I think it is the graphic nature of stripes that appeals to me. I'm also a lover of red.


So when I found these enamel, red striped plates I knew right away they were perfect!


I had the perfect paint and the perfect metal part left over from an old, outdoor lamp.



I attached the enamel plate to the metal base with E6000


and that's it! 
Nothing else.


It turned out to be an adorable nautical looking pedestal dish! The base was perfect! 

That old piano I found had so many awesome pieces...
This piece was my next project...

The color was perfect, the age, and the patina is great!
