These little trees are all over and are so darn cute, I'm trying one for myself today.

My oldest daughter is a master snowflake cutter.

Sometimes you have to look really  hard to see past the obvious.

I'm always pulling over and picking up  furniture off the side of the road.

Today I went to a white elephant fair at our church. 

I can't even change my shower curtain without thinking about how I'm going to repurpose the  old shower curtain rings.

Glitter holiday letters are in all the catalogs.

But did you know they are an easy and fun project, and you can make them yourself.

I began by cutting the letters N O E L out of cardboard from an old box.
I'm adding affiliate links in blue so you can find the products you need to create this project at no additional cost to you. 
I added tiny grommets to the top of each letter, then painted them silver on the front and back.



Each letter got a coat of Modge Podgethen sprinkled with German glass glitter.


When the letters were dry I strung them on waxed twine.

Then hung them on a wreath.

Sometimes Crafting and Thrifting go hand in hand.
Like the time I found a beautiful green, boiled wool jacket.

The jacket was almost free so the price was certainly right but I'm not a boiled wool jacket kind of lady so I had another idea for this great jacket. 

I got out my scissors and started cutting.

I cut enough triangles out of this jacket to fill a basket.

Cutting boiled wool is easy and it doesn't ravel. 
I sewed each of the triangles around 2 sides leaving the bottom open for stuffing.
I used Polyfil pillow stuffing and stuffed each triangle.

Before I closed the third side with a quick hitch stitch, I added a dist…

I liked the angel ornamentI made a few years ago so much that I created Rudolph gift tags done in the same style.

A collection of vintage dominoes is a beautiful  way to decorate this holiday season.

It finally happened!  After all these years of being inspired by Pottery Barn.


Pottery Barn may have been inspired by Homeroad!
Not that they could possibly have known it but my vases and candles are already sporting these little cuties.
I saw vintage dominoes in the latest Pottery Barn catalog.
They adorable!
And little did they know it but Homeroad has them too.
I also use them to surround a candle for a pretty little graphic display.


I love old games. 
Vintage game boards and assorted pieces are decorations all over my house.

Just nice to know... I'm thinking like the big guys!

I'm beginning to thing about about Christmas.

Tea lights sitting in bent spoons and ladles  are the order of the day.


They were very popular sellers at the craft fair this weekend.



Each board was stained with dark wax.


I attached a vintage spoon either with a vintage piece of hardware or with a piece of flashing cut, sanded, and screwed into place.

Each of the spoons is unique. Beautiful on their own....





or together they make a pretty grouping.
