Chalkboard Christmas Tree
This one is for all you chalkboard lovers out there.
I love green chalkboard, it's so vintage...
Today I'm combining my love of chalkboards with my love of Christmas!
I cut a green chalkboardinto 1" strips then cut them into lengths that would create a triangle or Christmas tree shape.
I hot glued the chalkboard strips to a stained paint stick.
Then added a rusty star to the top and a length of jutefor a hanger.
And the best part is that you can write on the chalkboard strips! I used an erasable chalk marker.

Repurposed Rooster Chandelier
My thrift store find of the day was this great rooster chandelier.
I saw one online that is still for sale for $739.00!!

The one I found at the thrift store, however, was not in great shape but no where near that kind of money!
I love roosters but a face lift was certainly in store for this chick.

Vintage Washboard Message Center and a Story
My garage sale weekend started out great with the purchase of an old washboard.
The story behind it however is much better....You see the house where I bought this washboard had a few other interesting items too. Obviously the woman having the sale had the same taste as me because right in the middle of the front table was one of my pedestal dishes!
Not just one that I happened to like but one that I made. And she was selling my pedestal dish at a garage sale... !!!
I looked right at her and smiled then proceeded to tell her that this was mine... that I made it. I checked the bottom and sure enough there it was my Homeroad stamp.
We were both more than a little embarrassed. So much so that I couldn't even look at her price. I was sure she had a $1.00 tag on my masterpiece.

DIY Elixir Bottles for Halloween
Turn thrift store bottles into spooky decorations in minutes!
I'm using jars and bottles found for next to nothing in the thrift store and a package of clear Halloween stickers from Michaels.
I created fun elixir bottles for Halloween decorating.
Add your own potions or favorite plastic props to the bottles.
Maybe a few spiders or an eyeball or two?
