Re-painting an Interesting Side-of-the-Road Table
"Hey Susan," said the text,"I found an interesting table for you!"
Curb alerts! I love them... when friends text me with a picture and ask me if I want the piece.
The first thing I had to do was to sand down the top.
I dragged the table outside and used my Ryobi electric sander to remove all the ugly chippy finish on the top.
It was better already...
Then came the paint job... A couple coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Old White. The brass spindles were a mess too so I painted right over them.
Let me tell you it was not easy getting into the center of this table!
Now it was time to do something with the top I chose General Finishes High Performance Water Based Top Coat.
This is my first attempt at using Top Coat and I'm glad I did because it ended up to be the best possible finish for this beautiful table top.
Now the piece was ready for a little edge distressing using 220 grit sandpaper and a coat of clear wax over the white chalk paint®.
This table sure is an interesting piece and I'm so thankful for the curb alert from Kathy!
