Yes you can paint fabric with Chalk Paint®!

This gorgeous chaise didn't start out as beautiful as you see it here... it was a light color with a light pattern but it was stained and discolored.  We used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Old White to transform the old sofa into a work of art.

Using a spray bottle of water and an Annie Sloan brush, we got to work... spraying the water as we painted, we spread the paint in a thin coat. As the paint dried we gave the chaise a second thin coat of paint.

A few stains bled through the paint so we used Zinsser Bulls Eye Clear Spray Shellac to seal the stain then repainted with the Old White.

The wooden frame of the chaise is also painted with a thin coat of Old White Chalk Paint® with gold accents. The gold accents are created by using Empire Gold Gilding Wax diluted with mineral spirits. We painted on the gilding wax using a chip brush then rubbed some of it off with a rag.  The results are spectacular!

When the paint was completely dry we used hot glue to attach rhinestone buttons into each of the tufts on the back of the chaise.

This chaise is a beauty! The fabric is soft, smooth and looks brand new. Chalk Paint@ can also be finished with Annie Sloan Clear Wax.

This makeover was created for a wedding reception... The beautiful bride will look like a princess on her glamorous newly painted chaise.
