Large Antique Racks with Beautiful Hooks
A beautiful patina on an antique store find.
I bought this cool old piece of a headboard.
I began by painting it with Miss Mustard Seed Milk paint in Trophy and to paint the center with chalkboard paint.
Here is where this project failed.
The center was cracked and pitted and really no good for a chalkboard no matter how cool it would have looked.
I ended up taking this piece apart. I ended up with a board from the top and one from the bottom and 2 side boards for another day.
The MMS Milk Paint was perfect for this project, it gave the wood a beautiful chippy paint finish.
I added a Silhouette stenciled Welcome sign and 2 glass door knobs to be used as hooks.
The bottom piece of the headboard also became a hook rack this time using extra large metal hooks.
These hook racks will hang on the wall in an entry way or mudroom.
[In my house I do not have enough wall space to hang and display these extra large racks so I'm displaying them for these pictures on my mantel.
