Reclaimed Wood Holiday Door Tags
My client sent me a picture and asked me if I could the door tags in the photo for her.
She actually wanted a set for Thanksgiving and a set for Christmas.
I couldn't wait to try.

I don't know the source of the original door tags in her photo but I put my own spin on her request by using reclaimed wood.
The wood I'm using was reclaimed drawer backs from the dresser I just sent to the curb.
The thickness of the reclaimed wood was perfect for this project and I'd rather used repurposed wood than new wood.
I broke apart the drawer then cut it out in the shape of wooden tags.
I used a 1" drill bit to drill the holes in the tags then stained 2 of them for the "Give Thanks" set.
I painted the other set a Hunter Green with Modern Masters Metallic Paint.
I did this Christmas mantel for Modern Masters using this beautiful metallic paint.
When the paint and stain dried I distressed the edges of the wood with sandpaper.
Using my Silhouette machine I cut vinyl to use as a stencil for this project.
No Silhouette machine?
Print out the lettering on your computer and use carbon paper to transfer the image onto the wood.
Hand paint in the lettering and you're done!
No machine required!
I pounced the paint over the stencil then peeled off the vinyl while the paint was wet.
The holiday door tags were just what my client wanted and she ordered several more with personalized names for gifts !
