Wooden Christmas Tree with Lights
I began work on a display for the Christmas craft fair I'm doing this month...
And while it doesn't look like much right now, I thought it would be great to display for ornaments for the fair.
I built the tree using scrap oak 1"x 1" pieces I found.... yep, in someone's trash.
The base is a piece of an old metal outdoor light painted with Graphite Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
At the top I added a rusty star...
All along the wooden branches I spaced screws to hang ornaments.
I was ready to call it finished when I got an email from Martha Stewart Living... it seems they are partnering with Home Depot for an Instagram Challenge called Building Cheer with Martha and they want to send me lights to make a project.
Yay!
Lights would be perfect for this project!
So I picked out lights and they arrived a few days later.
I wrapped the lights around my tree and it made my cute tree even more awesome!
Then I hung ornaments.
And then I lit it!!!
Wow!
This is going to be the perfect Christmas decorative display at my craft fair.
I can hang small ornaments I made to sell and have the tree lit and beautiful!
Thanks Martha, that was good timing!!
I made a second tree the same way and painted it white.
This one will have no lights and will hold a bunch of beautiful ornaments.
Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you'll take a minute to visit the Homeroad Amazon Shop for home gift ideas and my favorite craft supplies by following the bold link.
