How to Make an Ottoman from an Old Drawer
Turn an old drawer into a useful storage ottoman...
I began this project with a drawer leftover from another project.
I cut a thin piece of plywood to fit the top of the drawer and added cross sections of wood so it would fit inside the drawer and not slide.
Using a stencil from Vintage Sign Stencils I stenciled an image onto a piece of painters cloth.
I cut a piece of cushion stuffing to fit the top of the plywood then wrapped my stenciled fabric around the cushion and stapled it on the other side.
Castors are added to the bottom of the drawer so it is easy to move around.
The new repurposed drawer ottoman is perfect for putting your feet up and the storage is great for hiding away the junk.
I used a very small drawer for this project for demonstration purposes but following this example an ottoman of any size can be made the same way.
