When the holidays roll around all bets are off.

These are by far my favorite repurposed Christmas ornament to own and to make!

I've been making so many signs I'm thinking of completely filling my space in the antique shop with them in the coming months.

As time goes by I decorate less and less for Christmas. 

If this doesn't convince you that you need a vinyl cutting machine then nothing will!

This project is a teaching lesson for all of us. If you've got kids or grandchildren you probably use a lot of these plastic lids!

These Christmas trees are so fun to make!

It almost ended up in the trash at my friends garage sale but I grabbed it because I saw the ghostly potential.

Today is a rainy day and I'm playing around in my workshop.

I just love pallet art, especially the ones with pumpkins!

Sometimes I just want to turn everything I find  into a pumpkin in the Fall. 

Remember when I said I'd use that bling from an old light...

Christmas is 12 short weeks away...



Now that I have your attention, I'm reposting a very popular ornament post from a few years ago.

My first thought was to find vinyl Christmas words online  to use for my project.
But in the end I decided to hand paint them.  
I used scraps of driftwood I found on the beach. I just love hunting for driftwood scraps on the beach.



I gave them a quick coat of white spray paint then hand painted Christmas words with a Sharpie oil-based paint marker.

I gave them a quick sanding for a distressed, rustic look.

I drilled holes in the corners of each block and wrapped waxed twine around the ends and through the holes of each block. 

I finished some off with a flannel ribbon and a DIY rusty mini clothespin.

This project began with a huge problem at my house. 

It just couldn't be easier!
I grabbed a couple small white faux pumpkins from Michaels recently. 
These pumpkins are can be carved into a jack-o-lantern or as in this project, just cut the top off with a serrated knife. 
You're already almost finished with this easy project. 
Next up... one faux plant from IKEA.



Or... add a bouquet of flowers. You can drop a glass inside filled with water and add fresh flowers. 
(I know, my flowers are not real) LOL
Add a few fall leaves and you've got a simple, easy centerpiece for the table in minutes.
