Create a Sign From Children's Art Work
When we noticed this beautiful sentiment made by a friend's daughter hanging in her kitchen, an idea was born!
The original paper sign has been hanging in their kitchen for years and as you can imagine it is difficult to keep a paper note forever.
My daughter Kasey and I set out to create a sign for the family that would replicate their paper sign permanently.
Kasey began by making a copy of the original artwork and turned it into a Silhouette file that could be sized in my Silhouette software.
Kasey sent me the file and I created a vinyl stencil. The handwriting is an exact replica of the little girl's writing.
I applied the stencil to a piece of grey painted wood, then used black paint to stencil the design.
I sanded and distressed the edges then used an antiquing medium to stain the sign. When it was dry I sprayed the sign with a sealer.
This family now has a sign written in their daughter's handwriting to enjoy for years to come.
This would make the perfect gift!
These works of art can be made in any color!
