Repurposed Lamp Shade Planter
Today I'm repurposing the very last metal shade
from a great find a while ago.
A while back I came home from an estate sale with 4 metal lamp shades.
Little did I know at the time just how many projects I could make out of just 4 metal lamp shades for $5.
The first two ended up hanging in my kitchen. I've been waiting a long time to find the perfect metal shades to replace the ones in my kitchen.
Another shade was cut up and repurposed as part of this hanging colander lamp.
Now it is time to repurpose the 4th and final lamp shade.
I began by using a green glass drawer knob in the bottom of the lamp shade with a large washer to close up the opening. It looks very pretty plugging up the hole.
I drilled 4 holes around the top of the shade and used key rings to hold lengths of chain to the lamp shade.
That's it... I filled it with dirt and hung it from a shepherd's hook in my backyard.
The water drains slowly through the knob at the bottom so the plant has just enough but not too much water.
