- a rusty hinge
- a piece of scrap wood
- small magnets
- paint
- a wooden star
I made my rusty tree copying one I found at Chipping with Charm. Laurel, the creator at Chipping with Charm, has the best ideas and I love just about every little thing she's ever done. She takes the simplest finds and makes them adorable!
All I did to copy this adorable tree was to attach a rusty hinge to a painted board with screws.
If you don't have a rusty hinge then you can use this faux technique to rust your own!
I added magnets to bingo markers and attached a small photo and a vintage milk bottle cap printable to mine.
You can use anything to attach to the magnets and embellish your tree like broken jewelry, gems, tint ornaments, or metal stars.
I'm always looking for unique ways to display my vintage photos, and the vintage photo of my great grandfather and great uncle looks just perfect here.
This quick little Christmas decoration was made from a simple rusty hinge and a few inexpensive pieces from the craft store.
It is never too early to start thinking about Christmas and unique decorating for pennies is the best!
