I'm having fun making a vintage decoration for Spring using an enamelware ladle and a cute little nest. 

I made my own nest by wrapping a little Spanish moss into a circle.

I hot glued a few tiny speckled eggs into the center of the nest. 
This works well and a bag of Spanish moss is very inexpensive.


I had a vintage enamelware ladle laying around from a past antique store trip and decided to use it to hold the nest. 
I made a similar project several years ago using an enamelware ladle and a candleand wanted to update that look for Spring.

Flowers look beautiful in anything, especially something unexpected! Today I'm repurposing a cabinet door 
for flowers! 
This easy project took less than 30 minutes and looks beautiful! 



I began with another cabinet door from the store closing alert I received a few weeks ago. 

I painted the cabinet door using Coal Blackby Fusion Mineral Paint. Fusion pretty much sticks to everything, goes on smoothly and looks beautiful as you can see from the next photo. 
When the paint dried all there was to do was to screw the enamelware thrift store mail bin to the cabinet door with one screw and a washer. 

I attached 2 D rings to the back and strung a buffalo check ribbon through them for hanging.

This project began with another repurposed kitchen 
cabinet door. 
A repurposed cabinet door and a piece of chalkboard I found at Tuesday Morning, a store by me that has a little of everything. 
The first thing I needed to do was to choose a color for my cabinet door and since I love green I decided on a chalky paint by DecoArt that would be the perfect "garden green". 
I stenciled a bee from the DecoArt stencil Americana Decor Collection onto the chalkboard in white so it looked like chalk but would always be there. I then cut the chalkboard to fit the center of the cabinet door and used wood glue to adhere it. 
The bee came in a pack of 2 stencils with a couple of cute bird stencils.

A farmhouse styled flower box for Spring!

I found this cute metal dustpan in the dollar spot at Target and couldn't wait to use it in my next project.  First, I wanted to attach a wooden crate to the dustpan, I put E6000 glue along one of the slats and the edge of the dustpan. A heavy iron held the pieces together until the glue dried. 
I attached a DISC plate holder to the back of the dustpan. These are great for hanging things like plates to the wall because it allows them to lay flat against the wall. They are also removable.  I tied a length of jute through the handle and added a DIY enamelware numbered tagto the jute. 
I added small terracotta pots to the crate which can be filled with faux plants or real plants if you hang it outside.  Another cute feature is that the dustpan is metaland therefore magnetic. I added a seed pac…

I found this shiplap looking Egg in the Dollar Spot at Target. 

The egg was $3 so I brought it home to decide what to do with it later. 
I thought about printing a vinyl sticker with my Silhouette machine but the egg has shiplap type cracks in the wood and the vinyl might not work. 
I thought about using a stencil but decided instead to hand-paint a sign using a Sharpie Paint Stick.



I drew the words onto the egg pallet with a pencil first then used the Sharpie Paint Stick to paint over it. 
When the paint dried I used a white eraser to erase the pencil lines. 
This little project couldn't have been easier or more inexpensive! 

I hung the egg up on a chalkboard wreath I made a while back.
I like decorating this chalkboard and wreath for the holidays.
