Repurposed Storage Box for Office Supplies
Today I'm sharing another project from this pile of vintage mirror and vanity parts I picked up on the side of the road.
Last time I repurposed the mirror for my home and today I'm going to use one of those vanity boxes for storage in my office.
I began by cutting off one of the wooden boxes from the board it was attached to. I used a hand jigsaw to remove the box.
Next, I painted the box with two coats of Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black. I love this color especially when the edges are distressed and the old wood comes through.
When I found these pieces there were a few random knobs and wooden screws inside the box so I'm using one for a handle on the top. I attached it with wood glue and held it down with a mini bar clamp.
I had a metal tag in my collection that I attached to the back of the box where there was a hole.
I lined the inside of the box with a buffalo check decorative scrapbook paper which complimented the look.
The box was the perfect addition to my home office and holds supplies I need while working at my desk. It would also make a great rustic box for jewelry or things that collect on the dresser.
This rustic, distressed box goes perfectly in my office with the buffalo checked crate cubbies I made recently.
