Stenciled Herb & Flower Drying Rack
This is a simple project that can be made from easily found items you may already have at home.
I began with a scrap piece of wood and painted it with one coat of Coal Black Fusion Mineral Paint.
Next, I pulled a few pages from an old, yellowed book discarded from the library.
I used Mod Podge Antique Matte to decoupage the book pages to the board.
After letting the Mod Podge dry I heavily distressed the edges of the board with sandpaper.
I used the bike collection stencil by Old Sign Stencils to add a great design to the top of the book pages. I love this stencil, this time I stenciled it in all black but on a previous project I used this stencil with many colors. Take a look by visiting the bold link.
I added an old Ikea wooden hook rack to the bottom of the board and sealed the surface with hemp oil which enhanced the color of the wood.
Two sawtooth hangers added to the back will be enough to hang this on the wall for dried flowers and herbs.
I just love the rustic, graphic look of the solid black bicycle on this drying rack.
