DIY Rose Gold Tiered Tray for Easter
One of the pans was a very tarnished bundt pan that I paired with a beautiful chippy finial from an old porch railing.
I wasn't quite sure if I liked the bundt pan tarnished, as it was or if I should try cleaning it.
In the end I decided to clean the tarnish with Bar Keepers Friend, which did a great job.
I thought the color under all that tarnish would be more copper colored than it was, the bundt pan was actually more of a rose gold.
This unexpected color was the catalyst for the entire project.
I had a jar of Fusion Mineral Paint Metallics in Rose Gold in the basement so I gave it a try.
First, I began by attaching 2 pie pans back to back with E6000 glue then I drilled a hole into the center.
I cut the chippy finial to the size I wanted and attached it to the pie pans with more E6000 and a screw through the bottom of the trays.
I gave the bottom tray one coat of Rose Gold and let it dry before I continued with the project.
I attached the bundt pan to the top with more glue and a bunny shaped metal finial leftover from another project.
The bunny had a screw attached to the bottom which screwed into the finial below.
I painted the bunny to match.
I finished painting the bottom of the tray with another coat of metallic paint.
Fusion Mineral Paint sticks to metal and the metallic paint has a beautiful shiny finish.
I can't believe what a perfect match the Rose Gold metallic paint was to the bundt pan.
I sealed the bottom tray with a spray satin sealer then filled the bottom of the tiered tray with moss, speckled eggs, and faux flowers.
I filled the bundt pan top with faux hydrangeas and beautiful peonies.
It is the perfect tiered tray for Spring and Easter decorating and I had everything I needed at home.
