Repurposed Dollar Store Hello Spring Sign
It's time again for another Dollar Store makeover and frankly, it's definitely time for Spring! These little signs are perfect for sitting on a surface. They look great on a shelf or in a tiered tray for Spring decorating.
I bought these signs at the Dollar Tree.
I know they are very hard to find so if you want to make a similar sign you can read all about how to do that in this story.
And yep, it's spelled wrong!
Unfortunately, not all Dollar Trees have the same stock but if you get a few friends together, you may be able to buy a case of them at DollarTree.com.
If you're lucky enough to find them, and I found them in a couple of my local Dollar Trees, then it will be your lucky day!
I transformed this sign once before and you can read all about it by visiting this post.
Today, I'm going to begin by removing the metal frame on the sign.
I used a razor blade to remove the paper sticker that was attached to the sign under the metal label holder.
The top layer of the sticker came off easily but I needed to give the remaining sticker a quick spray of water then scraped the residue off with the razor blade.
Now it was time to do a little painting.
I'm painting my signs in Brook and Casement by Fusion Mineral Paint but you can also use craft paint you already have at home.
After the paint dried, I gave the edges a quick sanding with fine sandpaper just to give it a more rustic look.
When the paint dried I reattached the metal label holder.
While I waited for the paint to dry I made a sign using PicMonkey.
I'm sharing the PDF below if you're interested in using the same one I used.
This is such an easy project and the sign inside can be changed for every season!
These signs will be available locally at Bella Vita or in my Etsy Shop!
