DIY Stenciled Holiday Gift Bag
This is a fun and easy project to wrap your holiday gifts. These bags can be used for birthdays, Christmas, or any holiday just by changing the colors!
I made other ones this season that turned adorable so I'm making some more.
Today I'm using reuseable mesh silk screen stencils I bought a Michaels.
There are many different silk screen products out there but I decided to give the less expensive ones from Michaels a try.
These stencils are made by FolkArt.
I began with a couple of pre-made fabric drawstring bags.
The jar paste in the photo is from another company called Chalk Couture.
As you scroll through this post please pay attention to the bold blue links for more Homeroad information and the products I used for this project.
I also repurposed had a couple of grain sack bags I made a while back.
I'm showing you the process for both bags in this post.
The silk screen stencils are sticky on the back so you peel them off the backing and stick them to the fabric you are using.
I put a small card on the inside so the paint paste wouldn't go through the fabric.
I put a tiny bit of the paint on the stencil and used a squeegee to spread the paste.
Lift the stencil up right away and drop it into a tub of water to remove the paste.
These stencils can be used many times.
I decided to paint my stencil when it dried with a little bit of sage green paint.
I let the design dry then added a repurposed string bow to the top by gluing it with one spot of glue on the back.
These cute little bags can be used to hold hard to wrap small gifts.
They can be made using any size drawstring bag!
I think these mesh stencils work very well for the price and the little Christmas wrap bags couldn't be cuter!
