Make a Repurposed Hook Rack

Today I'm repurposing another repurposed project. I'm using what used to be a pot rack in my kitchen and turning it into a hook rack that looks like it's been around a while...

I began with the wood from what used to be a potting bench I found on the side of the road.

The potting bench became several fun projects including a hanging pot rack. 

When it was time to take down the hanging pot rack, I used the wood that held it together to create a hook rack I've been wanting for a while. 

I used one of the longest sides of the pot rack that already had screw holes.

I used Minwax stain cloths to stain the wood then sealed it with a spray sealer. 

Next, I ordered vintage looking hooks from Amazon and attached them to the board where the old screws were removed. 

The look of this reclaimed wood is gorgeous! 

You can space out the hooks to meet your needs. 

My hooks are close together because I used the holes in the original wood. 

I used the screw holes on each end of the wood to attach the hook rack to the wall. 

If you are using the hook rack to hang heavy items be sure to attach the rack to studs in the wall or use anchors. 

The hook rack was just what I needed to hang on the wall in my office and it couldn't have been easier to make. 

I'm using the rack in my office to hang a wreath and decorative items. 

That gorgeous painting was done by my very talented daughter!
