No Sew Drop Cloth Heart Garland
I'm starting to decorate my home for Valentine's Day. I don't do a lot but it has to be neutral. Today I'm playing around with drop cloth fabric and my glue gun...
I was experimenting today, I just finished making several adorable sweater hearts using hot glue so I'm keeping the no-sew idea going.
I began with a piece of drop cloth fabric.
As you scroll through this post please pay attention to the bold blue links for more Homeroad information and the products I used for this project.
I also cut out a heart from a piece of wide lace ribbon similar to this one.
I hot glued the hearts together leaving the bottom of the hearts open.
The hearts are stuffed with pillow stuffing and hot glued closed at the bottom.
Using cotton twine, I cut 5" lengths and tied a knot in each end.
I glued the knot to the heart and then did that again to each heart in a row.
The lace heart was added into the garland for interest.
Now these hearts can be adorned with bling, stamped with letters and words, you can tie bows to each one...
I decided as an afterthought, to add striped fabric to a few of the hearts and buttons.
I love the plain and simple look!
I tied the heart garland to my mantel for Valentine's Day.
The black candles on the mantel and the cozy sweater candles are both recent DIY projects.
The heart picks in the vase are also a recent Valentine's Day project.
If you'd rather fill a bowl with the hearts you can do that too!
