Rustic Bunny and Carrot Garland
Here is an adorable wired garland that can be made with wood or cardboard so it's a project anyone can do!
First I googled a bunny shape.
I cut out the shape and traced it onto 1/4" reclaimed wood.
As you scroll through this post please pay attention to the bold blue links for more Homeroad projects and the products I used for this project.
Here is where you would cut the shape from cardboard if you don't have a jigsaw.
I cut my bunny and carrot shapes from the wood and drilled 2 holes for the wire in each piece.
I used grey and orange craft paint to paint my wooden (cardboard) shapes.
I added details with a fine Sharpie marker and a rub on transfer on the carrot.
Next, I sanded the edges of my wood pieces to give them a rustic look.
You can get the same look on cardboard, just sand lightly.
Using a 3' length of rebar wire, I strung the bunny and carrot shapes onto the wire, curling the wire along the way.
I added loops to the ends of the wire for hanging then added a few small ties of rags along the wire for ribbons.
Here is a heavy cardboard carrot garland I made last year, it works just as well!
Add your garland to the mantel or hang it on a wreath!
