Easy and Inexpensive Ideas for Advent Calendars

Do you do Advent calendars? 


I think they are so pretty and the kids just love them. I am the proud grandma of 6 (7 in January) grandchildren and they just love to open the surprise each day. 


Over the years on Homeroad I've made several Advent calendars and today I'll share with you how they are done.

This beauty was made from a repurposed sign I found at the thrift store! I wasn't in the market for a "Home Sweet Home" sign but I knew the wood could be used for another project.

Or how about this beautiful Junk Lover's Advent Calendar. This one has little boxes with numbers that are filled with treats!

Here is another fun one! Rustic Stenciled Bingo Advent Calendar. This calendar has a rusty little ring that you move from day to day. The stencil made it very easy to make and the antique nails made it super special!

This Christmas Tree Advent Calendar is one of my favorites and also has small bags to fill with treats! The Christmas Tree can be used again to hang ornaments!

Whether you just fill envelopes on a clothesline or make an elaborate project for your Advent calendar, it is a special time of year and the kids get so excited!
