Vintage Ephemera Christmas Ornaments
Sometimes I just like to play and create with things I already have in my workshop.
Today I'm making easy Christmas ornaments using vintage ephemera I've been collecting for years.
Many of the supplies for these cute ornaments can be found in the dollar store too!
Take a look...
Vintage ephemera is defined as items of collectible memorabilia, typically written or printed ones, that were originally expected to have only short-term usefulness or popularity.
I've collected Bingo numbers, Scrabble letters, old measuring tape pieces, old buttons, and assorted other scrap book pieces.
Many of these items can also be found as reproductions on Amazon.

I gathered my supplies including galvanized steel tags and wooden stars from the Dollar Tree.
The first thing I did was to spray the galvanized tags with a matte sealer. It tones down the shine and makes them look older.
I spelled out JOY, HOPE and LOVE with Scrabble letters then began creating.
I added vintage measuring tape pieces, buttons, Bingo numbers, and the wooden stars from the dollar store.
At the top I attached a length of twine that came with the galvanized tags.
They are so cute and would be great sellers at craft sales this season!
I love the process of creating, not knowing where my projects will end up but having fun adding to them until they look like what I want them too.

These ornaments remind me a lot of the Mixed Media Hearts I made last year. They would actually make great ornaments too!
