DIY Mushroom Garden
Recently I saw the most beautiful mushroom wood bowl centerpiece at Jennifer Rizzo Design Company. I couldn't get the darn thing out of my mind it was so beautiful. The mushrooms were made by hand and it was just amazing.
Jennifer shows you in her post just how she made the mushrooms, she is a true artist!
I wanted to figure out how to make an easy version of the mushroom garden and on my most recent trip to Dollar Tree I knew I found a winner!
Take a look...
My mushroom garden is beautiful but I sure didn't make gorgeous mushrooms like Jenn did. I definitely took the easy way out but it came out adorable and I'm glad it turned out to be a quick and easy project anyone can do!

I found these packages of mushrooms in the garden section of Dollar Tree and bought 3 of them.
All I had to do was to paint the tops of the mushrooms. I used Fusion Mineral Paint in Raw Silk which is the perfect greyish mushroom color but any light grey/cream colored paint will work.
I let the mushrooms dry then gave them another coat. When the second coat was dry I added tiny spots using the Fusion Mineral Paint color Little Lamb and the back of a paint brush.
See I told you this was the easy way to do it!
I used hot glue to glue the mushrooms into a small wooden dough bowl similar to this one then filled the middle with mixed mosses and some faux clover sprigs I had in my floral stash.
I think it came out adorable and it is the perfect decoration for March and St. Patrick's Day. It reminds me of a meadow in Ireland. You could even add mini fairy lights!
I had several mushrooms leftover which I added to my tiered shelf that is decorated for St. Patrick's Day with Target Dollar Spot pieces.
I hope you'll pop on over to Jennifer Rizzo Design Company and see her beautiful work. You will be super glad you did!
