Bunny Wreath with Sherpa Ears
Every time I think I'm out of ideas for Homeroad, I head to the thrift store.
I almost always come away with at least one idea and today was no different.
I found a great wreath at the thrift store and finished up my idea with a couple of items from the dollar store.
See what I came up with...
So first of all I found a faux wreath at the thrift store, it looked like someone had added flowers to it at one point. I removed the flowers and ended up with a simple mid sized wreath.
At this point I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the wreath but it was going home with me but my next stop was the Dollar Tree. I found a wire bunny wreath and I suddenly had an idea!

First, I searched my scrap fabrics and found the perfect sherpa, this one is orange buffalo checked leftover from my Sherpa Carrot project. I cut the sherpa the size of the wire ears and with right sides together, I hot glued the fabric.
When the hot glue was dry I turned the ears right side in and slipped the sherpa onto the wire ears. I secured the sherpa with hot glue then bent one ear in a little bit.
The circle of my wire bunny wreath was smaller than my green wreath so I cut off the ears leaving ends that I could slip into the back of the green wreath.
Next, I made a quick bow with raffia and attached it to the front of the wreath with a bottle brush carrot from Dollar Tree to the bow.
Lastly, I made a hanger from rebar wire and attached it to the wreath.

I can't wait to show you what else I found on this trip to the thrift store!
I also like to hang my smaller wreaths with a large grapevine wreath on the front door to give it a little more presence!
