Recently I ran across a very cute birdhouse nesting box at my local grocery store. 
I thought about buying it, it was a very good price but upon closer investigation it was made from a very cheap wood product that I didn't think was going to last very long. 
I took a few photos and brought them home because I knew I had some cedar scraps in my workshop. 
And here is how it went...

A while back I cut apart a wooden crate. 
Truth be told I was out of wood and needed some to make a table riser. The vintage writing on the crate made a great riser! 
I really wanted to do something with the leftover pieces since they were distressed, vintage and had writing... all the things! 
Today I put the pieces together and created a unique planter for my garden.

My mission this week is to get the deck ready for Spring. 
We've had a couple of beautiful days so I decided to take a thrift store trip to see if there was anything I could get to repurpose for the deck. 
I found a couple of interesting items but one very ugly piece caught my eye. 
It was big enough to use as a plant stand on the deck but definitely needed a makeover!

Lemons are all the rage so today I'm going to make a lemon project using napkins and thrifted placemats! 
I found these fun lemon napkins at the dollar store and saved them for over a year before finally deciding what to do with them. 
I hope this project inspires you to do something similar with napkins you might find!

Last year I bought an inexpensive metal fire pit for our backyard. You see them all the time on Facebook Marketplace too.
Fast forward to this year, we purchased a new fire pit so I had the old rusty one to either sell or upcycle. 
You guessed it... I'm upcycling it! 
This old fire pit made the best backyard stand planter!!
