Repurposed Glass Cloches
If you've been following for a while you know I love to create cloches!
I make them out of anything I can find, wire, glass, plastic... you name it, I see a cloche!
Today I'm repurposing three of my kitchen pendant lights to create the cutest large cloches to add to my collection!
Take a look...
A while back we renovated our kitchen, a whole new open space with a 9' island!
I had 3 pendant lights hanging over the island with vintage bulbs but after about a year I decided I didn't like the look of the glass pendants. I created exactly what I wanted with a quick fix from a very unexpected place!

So I packed up the glass globes and stuck them in the garage, until today... I thought about making ghosts with them but then decided they would be way more useful as glass cloches.
Each of the globes had bubbled glass and would make a beautiful cloche. I just needed to figure out how to make a top for each one.
For the first cloche I gathered my materials which was a glass candle top and a wooden ball knob. Using E6000 I glued the candle top to the top of the cloche and added the ball.
I ended up staining the ball and used a footed cutting board I made a while back as the base to the cloche.
It made the perfect place to display my vintage gold clock!
For the second cloche I'm using the metal top that was actually part of the original light fixture and the top to a makeup organizer that had a small ball on top.
I once again glued the pieces together with E6000 glue.
Then brought it outside to spray paint with black matte paint.
In the end I used gold Rub and Buff to make the ball on top gold and added a wicker base.
For the third cloche I am using the top to a vintage mason jar and a flower drawer knob. I removed the screw part form the knob.
I glued the jar top to the top of the globe then added a few washers then used Rub and Buff to paint them gold.
I added a dish as the base and that's it! (I did have to go back and straighten out this knob!) 😆 The candy corn was another Homeroad DIY project!
I have 3 beautiful cloches that look great displaying some of my favorite vintage items!

I hope you'll look twice before tossing any kind of lighting pieces. Lamps, globes, and lamp pieces make the best repurposed projects! This beautiful base was a lucky thrift store find!
