Vintage Button Pumpkin Art
Today I'm making Fall art using vintage buttons and a repurposed frame.
I love using vintage buttons and they are something that is easy to find in thrift stores and antique shops.
This cute little framed piece looks great on a shelf and is fun to create!
Take a look...
Last Valentine's Day I made a framed art piece using vintage buttons and I loved it!

I keep my button heart up all year long on a shelf above our front windows. It blends well with my vintage group photos and vintage silhouette art.
The supplies you'll need for this project are:
- vintage buttons
- tacky glue
- sheet moss
- an old framed picture
- scrap book paper
I began by covering an old framed picture I had that came in a set from Hobby Lobby.
I'm using a Fall scene I cut from a magazine but you could also use scrapbook paper.
I used Aileen's Tacky Glue to attach the paper to the inside of the frame. You may notice that the thin paper I used is slightly wrinkled. In the end as the glue dries, the paper flattens out. Thicker scrap book paper will not wrinkle.
I drew a circle with the glue and began putting vintage buttons down around the circle. This Tacky Glue works great because it is thick and holds the buttons from slipping as it dries.
I went all the way around the circle with buttons then began filling in the center.
When the first layer was finished I began on the second layer. The second layer of buttons is a good place to add your favorite buttons!
I filled in the whole circle one more time then let the glue dry.
Next, I used sheet moss to create a base for my pumpkin at the bottom of the frame.
I also used a little shredded raffia and a stick cut in half for the stem.
That's it!
I let the pumpkin art dry and the wrinkles in the paper evened out!

I hope you enjoyed this fun and easy art project for the Fall, your art piece will look amazing tucked in a shelf for Fall!
