Easy String Ghost Pillow
On a recent trip to Marshalls I saw the cutest ghost lumbar pillow and I was sure it was something I could make in no time!
I snapped a photo and remembered I had the perfect pillow cover at home to replicate the look.
I had all the easy to find supplies at home so I got to work!

Here are the supplies you will need to replicate this look:
- a pillow cover
- Macrame string
- a Sharpie
- hot glue or fabric hot glue
That's all you'll need and most of these things you might even have at home!
I began by cutting 5 pieces of string about 7" long from the wooden spool I made for my cording. Shorter if you want smaller ghosts and longer if you want larger ghosts.
I'm using regular hot glue for this project because I don't think this pillow can be washed anyway but you can also use Surebonder fabric hot glue instead.
I folded the first piece of string in half and hot glued it to the pillow cover.
I went around the top portion of this string with the hot glue again and added another layer of string then I kept going until I used all 5 pieces of string.
Be careful when using the hot glue, you don't want it to show around your 5th string.
Next, you will want to cut your strings to make a straight line.
I went back with the hot glue to make sure the strings were attached well leaving just the bottom edge of the string loose.
I repeated this process all over the pillow cover. I am not going to use as many ghosts as my inspiration piece.
The last step is to add the eyes. I'm using a Sharpie marker to just dab 2 circles onto each ghost. You can add google eyes, felt eyes or even add a mouth too!
I cleaned up all the hot glue strings and the lint from the strings with a lint roller that worked great!
That's it!
I think I did a great job of replicating that inspiration pillow from Marshalls!
