Repurposed Gold Eyeglass Holder

I was browsing Amazon recently and saw a gold eyeglass holder I really wanted.  I wear sun glasses, prescription glasses, readers and even sunglass bifocal glasses. But like many of you, they are never where I want them when I need them.

I had the eyeglass holder in my cart for a while but before spending twenty bucks on it I looked around to see what I could use to make one myself! I'm a little cheap that way.

I found just what I needed from two thrifted items and ended up making one of my own.

Take a look...

I began with these 2 items from the thrift store. One piece is part of a candlestick I cut down and the other is the top of a photo holder. The photo holder screwed into a metal base at one time but I used it for another project.

You can find those loopy photo holders in the thrift store all the time! Sometimes they are attached to something not pretty but look for the photo holder part. If you don't have a candlestick you can use a wooden furniture leg from Home Depot.

A while back I made an eyeglass organizer to hang all my different glasses in my bedroom but truth be told that isn't where I need them most. It is downstairs in the kitchen or by the TV that I'm constantly looking for the right glasses.

Today I'm quickly and easily combining these two pieces to create an eyeglass holder for my living room because goodness knows, I can never find my glasses! And yes, sometimes they are on my head! 😝

First I drilled a hole in the wooden base.

Next, I screwed the photo holder into the base.

Lastly, I brought my creation outside and gave it a quick spray of this beautiful gold spray paint.

That's it!

All you have to do now is to hang your glasses on it! Just stick one of the sides through a loop and your glasses will hang safely and easy to grab for next time!

You could even decorate the base for the holidays!

I'm going to keep it on the end table by my TV so I will have my readers and distance glasses when and where I need them most.

Keep it by the entry table and your sunglasses are ready when you are!
